The Mt Shasta and McCloud Ranger Districts on the Shasta Trinity N.F. are planning to conduct prescribed burns 11/10/2025 – 11/13/2025.

Project Name: Lower McCloud Hand Piles – Bear Trap

•  Agency Contact: Hanne Meyers

•  Legal Location: T38N R3 W s. 14, 15

•  Descriptive Location: Near Cabin Creek Trailhead, south of the community of McCloud

•  Type of burn: Pile Burn

•  Total Acreage: up to 100 acres, but likely less

•  Planned Start of Ignition: 11/10/2025

•  Duration of Ignition and Smoke Production: Ignitions may last multiple days. Smoke production could last another 1-3 days after ignitions are complete.

•  Estimated Direction of Smoke Travel:  Varied depending on conditions.  Smoke impacts will be monitored, and ignitions halted if impacts are seen or anticipated.

•  Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas:   Cabin Creek Trailhead, Residences at the south end of McCloud

Project Name: Everitt Machine Piles

•  Agency Contact: Hanne Meyers

•  Legal Location: T40N R4W s. 2

•  Descriptive Location: Everitt Memorial Hwy, just north of McBride Springs Campground

•  Type of burn: Pile Burn

•  Total Acreage: up to 30 acres

•  Planned Start of Ignition: 11/12/2025

•  Duration of Ignition and Smoke Production: Ignitions may last multiple days. Smoke production could last another 1-3 days after ignitions are complete.

•  Estimated Direction of Smoke Travel:  Varied depending on conditions.  Smoke impacts will be monitored, and ignitions halted if impacts are seen or anticipated.

•  Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas:   Mt Shasta City

Project Name: Porcupine North Landing Piles

•  Agency Contact: Hanne Meyers

•  Legal Location: T42N R3E s. 11, 14, 15, 16 23; T41N R3E s. 3, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15

•  Descriptive Location: approximately 12 miles southeast of Medicine Lake, near Powder Hill and Porcupine Butte

•  Type of burn: Pile Burn

•  Total Acreage: up to 53 acres

•  Planned Start of Ignition: 11/12/2025

•  Duration of Ignition and Smoke Production: Ignitions may last multiple days. Smoke production could last another 1-3 days after ignitions are complete.

•  Estimated Direction of Smoke Travel:  Varied depending on conditions.  Smoke impacts will be monitored, and ignitions halted if impacts are seen or anticipated.

•  Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas:   Powder Hill Rd
