Per Daniel Swain at weatherwest.com: Park Fire is again gaining a pretty good heat signature on its eastern and northeastern flanks, and looks like it’s getting ready to throw a couple of pyroCu (though probably not pyroCb–not unstable enough) again this PM (some of this activity has apparently spotted across Hwy 32 recently). Yesterday was probably the best fire weather day we’re going to see for quite some time (potentially 10-14+ days). Today’s weather is still relatively favorable (cooler than average and not that windy), but temperatures and winds will both increase slowly through Wed and then heat will continue to increase thereafter for the foreseeable future, with a prolonged heatwave likely throughout the fire zone by early Aug. Hopefully crews can make a lot of progress along the western and southern flanks (as well as southeastern and northern portion near imminently threatened communities) in the next 24-48 hours before the weather really starts pushing this again aggressively in a few days.
