California Fire Safe Council
22 USFS-SFA Grant Program
sent by: Becca Joyner
The California Fire Safe Council (CFSC) is pleased to announce that it has selected eight projects for funding for the 2022 Grants Clearinghouse State Fire Assistance Grant Program. This amounts to $1,175,000 in federal grant funds to support wildfire risk reduction projects in at-risk communities in eight counties across California.
The selected projects, which include six non-profit organizations and two resource conservation districts, will help California communities respond to the growing concern of catastrophic wildfire. Through subgrants from CFSC, these projects will implement fuels reduction projects such as community chipper programs, fuel breaks, and roadside/defensible space projects. They will also utilize educational tools to spread the fire safe message, by fully engaging community members.
Thank you to our partner, the Cooperative Fire Program of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Department of Agriculture, Pacific Southwest Region for providing the funding for the 2022 Grants Clearinghouse master grant.
