Rain forecast for region

From NWS:

Rain and Wind, Below Normal Temperatures Late This Week into Weekend

A significant fall-like frontal system will move in late this week. Wetting rain is likely for the vast majority of the forecast area along with some gusty winds preceding the front. The winds and continued dry humidity will result in elevated fire weather concerns at times through Friday.

Rainfall will be moderate to heavy at times along the coast and into the Umpqua Basin Friday night into Saturday with showers continuing into Sunday. Rainfall with the front will push through the Rogue Valley/Cascades Saturday, then south and east of the Cascades Saturday night into Sunday. Showers persist behind the front into Sunday afternoon, but largely end Sunday night into Monday.

A period of cold temperatures will follow as skies clear Sunday night and Monday night. Temperatures near or below freezing are possible over the east side.

KEY POINTS

Wildfire-spread potential remains elevated at mid-late week before rain arrives.
