Some updates on fires

Trinity County Sheriff’s is telling people in Big Flat to evacuate. Monument Fire is at least 25,000 acres now. It may reach Junction City by tomorrow.

Dixie Fire has grown to 432,000 acres. It is now the biggest fire in the west, eclipsing the Bootleg Fire in Oregon.

Per KRCR:

Lassen County Sheriff’s Office officials said the area of Walker Lake, north to Mtn. Meadows Reservoir, and south to Moonlight Rd. are currently under an evacuation order. Additionally, the areas east of Mtn. Meadows Reservoir and south to Hwy 36 to Coppervale are also under evacuation orders.

An evacuation warning has been issued for Lassen National Forest south to Hwy 36 to the Lassen County line. This includes Hamilton Mountain, Coyote Peak, and Indicator Peak south to Hwy 44, north to Hwy 36, west to Hog Flat Reservoir.

Alternate spaces are available for evacuees at the following locations:

  • Susanville Village RV Park, Johnstonville Rd, Susanville, 530-256-2589 – 15 spaces available. Full hook-ups. $40/daily, $220/weekly, and $500/monthly with electric bill
  • Eagle Lake RV Park, 687-125 Palmetto Way, Eagle Lake, 530-825-3133- 30 spaces. 30 amp. Each spot has power, water, sewer, and cable.
  • Old Sierra Pacific Mill picture below (Tim Nobles), 1620 Riverside Dr, Susanville – Can get water and power. No sewage. LOTS of room.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation warning for the community of Platina, due to the McFarland Fire.

This new warning for Shasta County includes both sides of Highway 36, from Sunday Gulch Road to the Shasta-Tehama County line, and all roads south of Highway 36. This includes Beegum Gorge Road, Platinum Lane, Secluded Glen Lane, Shady Nook Drive, and Beegum Road.

Antelope Fire: The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation orders for the following communities: Tennant, Bray, Mount Hebron, Round Valley area south of Red Rock Road, including Long Prairie Road, Robison Road, Old State Highway. At 22,500 acres it has surrounded the community of Tennant, and there are reports of structure fires.
