Contingent upon weather conditions, the Mt Shasta and McCloud Ranger District on the Shasta Trinity N.F. are planning to conduct prescribed burns 12/15/2025 – 12/18/2025.

Project Name: Lower McCloud Hand Piles – Bear Trap

•  Descriptive Location: South of the community of McCloud and Cabin Creek Trailhead, along Yet Atwam Creek

•  Type of burn: Pile Burn

•  Total Acreage: 10 acres

•  Planned Start of Ignition: 12/15/25

•  Duration of Ignition and Smoke Production: Ignitions may last multiple days. Smoke production could last another 1-3 days after ignitions are complete.

•  Estimated Direction of Smoke Travel:  Varied depending on conditions.  Smoke impacts will be monitored, and ignitions halted if impacts are seen or anticipated.

•  Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas:   None
