Hello,

The Mt Shasta Ranger District of the Shasta Trinity National Forest is planning a prescribed burn near McBride Springs Campground on Monday, November 3rd, pending weather conditions. The unit is approximately 100 acres, and about 1 mile north of the Gateway Trailhead. See attached map. The unit is circled in black.

Smoke will be visible from Mt Shasta City. The prescribed fire will occur when conditions are favorable, including good dispersion of smoke up and away from the community.

Please use caution when traveling along Everitt Memorial Highway. Wildland fire engines, vehicles, and fire personnel may be working on and adjacent to the roadway. Additionally, the upper section of the Lemurian Delirium trail is within the planned prescribed burn unit. Please avoid using this trail while prescribed fire operations are in progress.

Any questions, please reach out.

Thank you,
